Privacy Policy

Meat Smarts helps shoppers compare visible meat packages in a photo and receive one best-looking selection. This policy explains what information is processed when you use the service.

Information We Process

• Account information: your email address and, with Google sign-in, basic profile information supplied by Google.
• Photos and results: photos you choose to submit, request preferences, and the resulting visual recommendation.
• Usage and membership: free picks used, subscription status, and identifiers needed to connect your account with billing.
• Technical information: limited request, device, security, and diagnostic information processed by our hosting and authentication providers.

How We Use Information

We use information to authenticate users, analyze submitted photos, return recommendations, count free picks, provide paid access, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and operate and improve Meat Smarts.

Photos

Meat Smarts does not intentionally save submitted meat photos to its application database. A submitted photo is transmitted to our AI service provider to generate the requested result. Service providers may process and retain information according to their own service terms and security practices.

Service Providers

We use Supabase for authentication and account data, OpenAI for photo analysis, Stripe for subscriptions and billing, Vercel for hosting, and Google for optional sign-in. Stripe processes payment-card information directly; Meat Smarts does not receive or store full card numbers.

Sharing and Sale

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information to service providers, when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer.

Retention and Security

Account, usage, and membership records are retained while your account is active and as reasonably necessary for security, legal, accounting, and operational purposes. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices

You may sign out, manage or cancel a subscription through the billing portal, or request access to or deletion of your account information. See our account deletion instructions.

Children

Meat Smarts is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Policy Changes

We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date.
